Within
our church there is an active and thriving Youth
Department bubbling with many members with a zeal
for the Lord, endeavouring to enrich His kingdom.
This
passion is more than a by-word, and the enthusiasm
experienced by all is positively channelled through
various activities.
Fusion
is the name given to our fortnightly meetings which
are specifically for young people and is vibrant,
attractive and purposeful. We are proud of the fact
that within this department young people at their
prime are able to display their strengths and vitality,
expressing themselves in various ways.
This
is evidenced in debates about various topics, bible
studies, and social events.
Fusion
is continually expanding, as are the ventures undertaken
to broaden our Christian walk and experiences.
The
People's Christian Fellowship warmly embraces young
people, encouraging, guiding and actively endorsing
their contributions within the fellowship, giving
them a platform where they can express themselves
in different ways that are conducive to spiritual
growth. This is demonstrated in many ways.
Youth
Sunday sees the young people lead Sunday service
as they minister in a number of areas, such as Praise
and Worship, playing musical instruments, and ministering
in song. In addition to this there are testimonies,
sketches and delivering God's message.
A
number of choirs have been birthed within the youth
department, such as Kids For Christ and Melody who
as well as blessing the home congregation have had,
and continue to have, the opportunity to minister
at various churches and concerts.
The
Youth Department also hosts the People's Christian
Fellowship Convention which currently takes place
annually, and is soon to be held twice a year. It
is organised by the Youth Convention Committee Team,
which has been up and running for over 2 years,
and consists of 9 members.
For
the past three years the Youth Department has experienced
dynamic teaching through members of the People's
Christian Fellowship and guest speakers, using a
variety of methods, such as seminars, plays, testimonies
and preaching. These vibrant and powerful meetings
are purposed to sow seeds of new life, growth and
maturity by addressing many areas covered by themes
such as "Come As You Are", "Do You
Know The Man?" and, "W.W.W (worship, worship,
worship) itsallaboutthetrueandlivingGod.Come!".
It
is truly a wonderful time of edification and fellowship,
with the full glory and presence of the Lord ministering
to the saved and unsaved alike, while at the same
time witnessing the amalgamation of many churches.
Breaking
down barriers, striving for excellence, and exploring
fresh, innovative means by which we can be effective
instruments in God's kingdom is continually at the
forefront of everything Youth Department stands,
as well as aims, for.
This
has most recently manifested itself in the creation
